SPICY SLIDES Proprietary License Version 1.1 — 11 October 2026 Copyright © 2026 Artem Kuznetsov. All rights reserved except as granted below. 1. Scope and rights holder Artem Kuznetsov (the "Licensor") grants the permissions below for copies of SPICY SLIDES distributed with this license. The "Software" means the editor, its launcher and presentation viewer code owned by the Licensor. It does not include user-created content or components carrying their own licenses. This is a proprietary software license, not an open-source license. 2. Free-of-charge use You may install and use the Software free of charge for personal, educational, research and commercial work, on any number of devices you own or control. You may make copies reasonably needed for installation, internal deployment within your organization and backup, retaining the license and notices. You may view the official website and interactive demos in a browser, share links to them, and download and adapt the supplied sample presentations for your own presentations. No source-code delivery obligation is imposed by this license on the Licensor or on users for the Licensor's proprietary code. Third-party obligations are addressed in section 7. 3. Your presentations and exported viewers The Licensor claims no ownership of your presentations, text, images, data, notes or other user-created material. Subject to rights in content supplied by others, you may edit, publish, distribute, sell and host your presentations and their exports, including interactive HTML exports, without paying a royalty to the Licensor. Recipients may use the included viewer code to view and interact with those presentations without installing the editor. You may distribute the viewer code supplied by the export as part of a presentation, preserve its license notices, and make layout/content changes to the presentation. This permission does not grant the right to extract or reuse proprietary editor or viewer code in a different software product, or to redistribute the editor itself. Any viewer portions distributed under an open-source license remain governed by that license. 4. Plugins and interoperability You may create, use, share and sell your own plugins, HTML widgets and other independently authored integrations using the Software's exposed interfaces, without obtaining permission for each plugin. You retain rights to your own code. This permission does not authorize copying proprietary Software code into an integration. Rights required by mandatory law for interoperability, security research or other permitted activities are not restricted. 5. Restrictions on the proprietary Software Unless the Licensor gives separate written permission, you may not: (a) sell, rent, sublicense, publicly redistribute or mirror the editor or its installer, or bundle it with another product; share the official download link instead; (b) distribute modified versions of the editor, rebrand it as your product, or incorporate its proprietary code or substantial protected portions into another software product; (c) reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble or extract proprietary code for reuse, except where permitted by non-waivable applicable law or by an express permission in this license; (d) remove or falsify proprietary copyright, attribution or license notices. These restrictions do not apply to your own content, independently written plugins, activities expressly allowed above, third-party components to the extent their licenses permit them, or rights that applicable law preserves. The fact that HTML or JavaScript code can be inspected does not itself grant a right to reuse that proprietary code. 6. Branding and independent development No general right to use the SPICY SLIDES name or logos as the branding of your own software, or to suggest sponsorship or endorsement, is granted. Accurate references to SPICY SLIDES, reviews and screenshots demonstrating its use are permitted, subject to applicable law and third-party rights. This license does not claim ownership of abstract ideas, methods, algorithms or functionality as such, and does not prohibit lawful independent creation of software based on concepts that are not protected intellectual property. Inspiration from publicly observable behavior and general concepts, and independent implementation of similar features, are permitted by this license. The restrictions in section 5 do not prohibit such inspiration. This permission does not authorize copying protected code or assets, infringing patents, or violating third-party licenses or trademark rights. 7. Third-party software and earlier licenses Third-party components are governed by their own licenses and notices, including THIRD-PARTY-LICENSES.txt, which take precedence for those components. This license neither replaces them nor limits rights they grant. Required notices, permissions and any applicable source-code obligations must be preserved. A browser installed separately by you is not relicensed here. Copies previously distributed under MPL-2.0 or another license, and rights already granted for those copies, remain under their applicable terms. This license does not retroactively withdraw such rights. Where you have a valid separate license to the same code, you may exercise rights under that license. Only code for which the Licensor has the necessary rights is offered under these proprietary terms. 8. Warranty and liability To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Software is supplied "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE", without express or implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement. You are responsible for keeping backups and checking your own presentation content and outputs. No promise of updates, support or uninterrupted service is made unless agreed separately in writing. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Licensor is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of data, profits or business arising from use of the Software. Nothing excludes liability or consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded, including any applicable mandatory protections. 9. Duration and termination The license for a copy continues while you comply with its terms. If the Licensor gives notice of a material breach, the license may be terminated if you do not cure it within 30 days, except where applicable law requires otherwise. On termination, stop using the proprietary editor and delete its copies, except copies that law requires you to retain. This does not transfer ownership of your content or prevent you from sharing previously exported presentations as allowed by section 3. Third-party and earlier license rights are unaffected. 10. Acceptance, applicable law and updates to terms By installing or using a copy of the proprietary Software supplied under these terms, you accept them to the extent such acceptance is recognized by applicable law. If you do not accept, do not install or use that copy; this does not affect rights you have under another applicable license. Mandatory applicable law prevails. If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to the extent legally permitted. A revised license applies only to copies supplied with that revised license; posting new terms does not retroactively change this license for your copy.
